Mia Sclar is the Director of Operations for the Dara Lynn Foundation, a nonprofit established in honor of her late mother, Dara, who passed away nearly ten years ago. Dara played a vital role in the early development of Mia’s younger sister, Sydney, who has autism, and this organization carries forward her legacy and vision.
Mia brings a strong scientific foundation to her role, shaped by years of experience as a neuroscience lab manager and her current pursuit of a PhD in Neuroscience. With two peer-reviewed publications and an academic focus on traumatic brain injury and PTSD, she merges rigorous research with heartfelt purpose. Her journey into neuroscience began in an unexpected but personal way. After sustaining multiple concussions as a Division I athlete, she developed curiosity about the brain and its resilience.
At the Dara Lynn Foundation, Mia applies her research-driven mindset to ensure that the programs and resources offered are grounded in evidence-based practices. Her unique perspective, blending lived experience, scientific expertise, and a deep family connection, shapes the foundation’s mission to support children and families through informed programming, accessible education, and compassionate care.
