Dr. Katherine Garcia brings over 15 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), with a dynamic career spanning clinical, school-based, and home settings. She specializes in providing individualized services to children between the ages of 18 months and 15 years, supporting their developmental growth through evidence-based practices.
Her journey in ABA began in 2008 while completing her undergraduate studies at Binghamton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychobiology. She later obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Behavior Analysis from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Garcia is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the Doctoral level (BCBA-D), a Licensed Behavior Analyst, and holds multiple New York State teaching certifications in both early childhood and elementary general and special education.
Throughout her career, Dr. Garcia has delivered ABA services through the New York State Department of Education, Department of Health, and the Office of Children and Family Services. Her professional responsibilities have included developing individualized interventions, conducting assessments, training families, and supervising service delivery. She has also contributed to applied research in early education and behavior analysis.
Dr. Garcia has mentored graduate students in ABA, guiding their development through coursework, research, and practical application. She has also proctored graduate-level coursework at Teachers College, Columbia University, and served as a member of an Institutional Review Board, ensuring the ethical and regulatory integrity of research projects.
Born in Lima, Peru, and raised in Long Island, New York, Dr. Garcia is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is deeply committed to advocating for underserved communities and ensuring equitable access to high-quality services. Her professional mission is rooted in improving children’s quality of life by fostering independence, protecting their dignity, and promoting inclusive environments.
Outside of her professional work, she enjoys interior design, which she uses to create warm, welcoming spaces for family and friends.
