Alan Sclar

Alan Sclar is currently a partner in a mid-sized law firm in New York City. He has served as a distinguished member and managing partner at two prestigious New York City law firms, where his practice focuses primarily on complex commercial and corporate litigation, negotiation, appellate litigation, insurance law and other civil litigation. With a career marked by a blend of legal expertise and business acumen, Alan has successfully represented a broad spectrum of clients in numerous appellate matters across the Second Circuit and the New York appellate courts. His legal prowess spans a variety of fields including corporate litigation, general torts, environmental law, products liability, professional liability, construction defect, labor law, and transportation.

Alan holds an MBA from Columbia University, which complements his robust legal experience, allowing him to provide insightful and strategic solutions to the firm's clients. He is an expert negotiator known for securing the most favorable outcomes in both litigation and transactional matters. Alan's career began as a legislative aide to a former New York State Speaker of the House, followed by his role as a judicial law clerk, laying a solid foundation for his legal journey.

Deeply committed to service, Alan has provided pro-bono legal services to victims of the 9/11 attacks and various charities.

Alan was married to Dara Sclar, who passed away in 2015. Together, they have four children, one of whom has autism and special needs, a cause close to Alan's heart. Alan also has a grandson.
